Prayer Meeting
Monthly parish prayer fellowship - devotional song, Scripture, reflection, and evening prayer at St. Dionysius, Ballarat.
The St. Dionysius Prayer Group gathers once each month for an evening of shared prayer, Scripture, and fellowship. It is a quiet anchor in parish life - a time to bring our joys and burdens before God together, and to strengthen the bonds of community beyond Sunday morning Qurbana.
Why we meet
The prayer meeting exists to draw parishioners into a rhythm of prayer, reflection, and mutual support. In a busy world, an hour set apart for God and for one another is not a small thing. Whether you come every month or whenever you can, you are welcome.
How meetings are led
Meetings are presided over by our Vicar. When he is unavailable, the Prayer Secretary leads the gathering - keeping the same spirit of reverence and order that shapes our Sunday worship.
Order of the meeting
A typical evening begins with devotional songs, followed by a reading from Holy Scripture and a short address or reflection. The gathering concludes with evening prayer - the parish praying as one before dispersing into the week ahead.

Dates are announced in the parish bulletin and at Qurbana. If you would like to attend, help with music or readings, or learn more about the Prayer Secretary role, speak to our Vicar or contact the parish office.
