Lord's Day — worship
Anno Domini · MMXXVI · Ballarat Parish

Come, let us worship in His holy house.

An Indian Orthodox parish in Ballarat, rooted in the apostolic tradition of St. Thomas. Each Lord's Day we gather for the Holy Qurbana — an unbroken liturgy of light, incense, and song.

Theophany
The Feast of the Theophany

The light has shined upon the waters.

Solemn Qurbana followed by the Blessing of the Waters on 6 January. Bring vessels to receive holy water for your homes.

Patronal feast
The Patronal Feast · 14 January

The feast of St. Dionysius.

Our parish keeps its perunnal with a procession, solemn Qurbana, and the agape feast in the parish hall.

— Welcome

A spiritual home for every soul.

Peace be unto you. Whether you are arriving for the first time, returning after many years, or have worshipped with us all your life — there is a place for you at this altar. Our parish was consecrated in the name of Mar Dionysius, a faithful shepherd of the Malankara Church, and continues a tradition of prayer that reaches back to the Apostle Thomas himself.

The liturgy is sung in three tongues — Malayalam, Syriac, and English — so that the youngest child and the eldest grandparent may pray together. Tea is served in the hall after the Qurbana. Come, and bring a friend.

Portrait of the Vicar
From the Vicar

"The Church is not a building of stone, but a household of love. Here, we lay down our burdens, sing our griefs into hope, and remember that we are deeply known."
